Bring a pan of salted water to boil and cook the pasta according to pack instructions.

Add the broccoli to the pan 2 minutes before cooking has finished.

While the pasta cooks, remove the skins from the sausages and break the meat into pieces.

Lightly brown the garlic in the olive oil, being careful not to let it burn.

Add the sausage pieces and brown them over a mdium/high heat.

Drain the pasta, reserving 4 tbsp of cooking liquid.

Once the sausage is cooked through, tip the pasta and reserved water into the pan with the sausage and garlic, and toss.

Serve hot with parmesan and chilli flakes if desired.
